The Incubator for Social Enterprises and Entrepreneurs for Development (ISEED) at IRMA facilitated a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Capacity Building of Board of Directors of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from 6th - 8th June, 2019 in Ahmedabad.
The ToT was in collaboration with Skill Green Global, Green Innovation Centre, Aga Khan Rural Support Program, India [AKRSP(I)] and Development Support Centre (DSC).
The training saw participation from 21 participants of eight organizations namely Yuva Rural Association, DSC, BASIX Consulting and Technology Services Ltd., Naman Seva Samiti, Jaljeevika, Shashwat Trust, AKRSP (I) and Gujpro.
Board of Directors of FPOs of AKRSP (I) and DSC also participated in the training. Dr. Maya Mascarenhas, a noted development professional, led the facilitation.
Some of the major themes covered in the ToT were Statutory Compliance, Financial Inclusion and Planning and Management of FPOs.
The ToT followed the launch of the FPO Manual at the National Workshop on Strengthening Farmer Collectives on 7th March, 2019 organized by ISEED in collaboration with APMAS, NAFPO and Green Colleges at IRMA.
