When awards are won and honours brought home, an editor’s work is made easy. This is the case with this issue of Network. One national award and one global award, earned through genius and hard work of IRMAns are photo-featured in this issue of Network! Further success stories are shared in the IRMA news section in this issue. Sitting in a premier academic institute like IRMA, I wondered what academics could do to help its participants win awards! What is so different about education in IRMA that helps its participants to make a difference out there? This question took me to famous educational psychologist Howard Gardner who talked about multiple intelligences. Gardner talks of nine types of intelligences: Spatial, Linguistic, Logical-Mathematical, Intra-personal, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Musical, Interpersonal, Naturalistic, and Existential. I thought hard as to which kind of intelligence IRMAns are gaining while they spend two years of rigorous training during the post-graduate programme. Reading the success stories, of IRMAns, a truth was revealed. If IRMAns success has to be explained, Gardner’s classification is not sufficient. A new category has to be added namely, Professional Intelligence. This kind of intelligence is not merely creativity to solve a given societal problem, but the agility to engage with those problems in a sustained manner. IRMAns’ awards beyond a personal achievement are symbols of partnerships. Therefore, truly we can say “Blessed are those networked”!
