"Jatra", the inter-block event where the hostel blocks(A-I) lock horns with each other for the winning title, was organised from March 1-2 this year. In addition to the hostel blocs we had 2 teams from the quarters too called Q1 and Q2. The otherwise friends turned foes for supporting their blocks all in sporty spirit.

The festival was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial torch by Prof Mukul Kumar and Prof Shyam Singh along with the students.

The draws were taken out and accordingly the sequence of participation for each block were planned. The battle kicked off with the treasure hunt followed by an event called 'how fast can you go slowly' where the participants were required to complete the race on a bicycle by moving as slow as possible, terms and conditions applied.

Then there were other exciting events for the day like Mock Rock and Jhakkaaas Bollywood where each of the blocks displayed their talents in dance, music and acting. The next day too was filled up with a lot of contests like Tug of War, Block Song, Ad Mad and Fashion Show.

Eventually the H-block were declared winners and lifted the Jatra 2014 trophy. Kudos to the JOC (Joint Organising Committee) members for organising and planning the activities and for the smooth functioning of the entire show.
